"raising comp" raising the computer? Don't see how the height of it will affect performance!

You can have the engine chipped, it will product slightly more power, but very little to be honest.

Problem is skimming heads will mess up fitting the divider and front cover.

I reckon though there is enough leeway to skim off about 10 thou, ie about 0.5mm before any problems are encountered.

Other option is 2.5 heads but that will probably be too much.

Try DBW exhaust manifolds

"comp" = abbrev of "compression ratio"

Not sure about the 3.0l V6 but the 2.5l V6 I used to have seemed about on the limit for standard unleaded. I did try running on super unleaded a few times but couldn't detect any difference in performance. On that totally unscientific basis I suspect that you could theoretically get more performance out of super unleaded with a higher compression ratio.

Actually achieving an increase in compression ratio could a right pain. The heads are not meant to be skimmed, I don't know if the block height could be reduced :-/ but then valve clearance could be an issue. If you have all adjustable cam belt tensioners you should be able to get the cam timing right though.......

A more straightforward gain would be to fit 3.2 exhaust manifolds  ;)
[edit]must type faster..........[/edit]

sorry i'm in IT thought comp was computer  :-[

3.2 manifolds breath better than 3.0, but for the record, ex-police Omegas ran standard ECU setups, they were no different!

I'd be interested to know how you got 227 figure!

Only noticeable mod, would be a police spec diff, which was a lower ratio to aid the 0-60 dash, but at the expense of top end speed.

I've driven a 3.2 plod with such a diff, it was quick off the mark!

Just to clarify all diffs are the same to retail spec cars!

It is very, very rare for a LSD diff to be fitted to retail spec cars. MV6 diff is no different to an Elite...

Not all plod ones were LSD either.

If the diff is off the car, i don't know how you would test it? I tend to put full right lock on, boot it and see what the rear does  ::)
