Head Gasket.....Help!!!!
« on: 20 February 2011, 16:32:43 »

Help please, I think my head gasket has gone, I have the 2.6 v6 auto version on a 51 plate with 70k. My expansion tank is filled up with what can only be decribed as coffee sludge, but my oil dipstick is clean and not milky like i would have thought, my oil filler pipe has mayo around the top but its always had that from condensation. I had a new water pump and cam belt fitted about 4 months ago and a new heater exchange valve thingy (starship enterprise) fitted in november. Anyone have any thoughts and roughly how much it will cost to repair.

Its not head gasket, the oil cooler has failed. Do not drive it in its current state.  :y

As Tunnie says, its more likely to be the oil cooler :)
