CAT TYPE APPROVAL
« on: 27 February 2011, 11:50:30 »

Hi
I need a new front exhaust section.
I have noticed that there are two types, pre 2001 non type approved, and post 2001 type approved about £50 more. Is there any practical reason I cannot put a non type approved on?. eg different size, poor running, mot testers will fail it.

Non geniune cats are horrid.

As you have a 2.2 (assuming its petrol?), is it the exhaust flexi, which is just after the second cat which has split/failed? If so this can be cut off and replacement put on, part is just £15  :y

Yes it is the flexi.
Any idea where to get one?
Also do they have to be welded on?
Cheers

Yes it has to be cut out and replacememt welded in:

If you find a good stainless steel zorst place, they maybe able to do it without dropping the exhaust.

If you know a mate with a welder, you can easily drop the exhaust from the manifold...
