Is there a 'how to' for replacing the wing mirror glass on the facelift? Checked the maintenance guides but to no avail.

Any tips and encouragment would be handy?

It just prises out and undo wiring if heated.

just pops out... flat head screw driver behind the glass and plastic and lever it off. Just push the replacement on it will pop on, 30 second job

Thanks lads. I currently have a wide angle/aspherical glass on the nearside mirror that leaves a massive blindspot.

Is there any chance of damaging the paint work on the wing mirror when a screwdriver in inserted?

You shouldn't need any tools to remove it. I'd use a wide flat scraper rather than a screwdriver, as you suggest there's a chance of marking   your mirror with a screwdriver.

I used a screw driver on a Facelift in the scrappy, paint work did not concern me 

That said it did not damage it, the black inner part of the mirror on the facelift won't be damaged.

You can make it a lot easier, by using adjuster thing on the drivers door, to point it really far intowards the car

Mmmmwelllll it does kinda pop off, but to be belt and braces I would remove he outer cover first. By poking a screw driver in between the mirror glass and surround to open out the tabs, then the outer comes off, then the mirror and the clips can be seen and gently levered off with suitable implement. Removal can brake the tabs if pulled. However if glass is  being binned then fair enough.

Thanks for the replies. The glass will be binned so not bothered about breaking tabs but obviously dont want to damage the car in any way.

I rang Vauxhall and they quoted £46 for a glass. There are some on ebay but I'm worried they'll be the same junk that I've got on my car now. Rang a scrappy and they wont sell me the glass on its own. Any ideas?

They are when they're heated too. 

I wouldn't try to remove the coloured outer bit as Chris suggested, the locating tabs easily break .......  Just prise the glass out as they are.

I dont mind coughing up, just human instint to want a bargain. 

Thanks all, I'll just angle the glass towards the car like as tunnie suggested and try to prise them off with my fingers
