Hi
MOT booked today, and still overfuelling I think. So (after ripping off air intake, plenum, breathers, cleaning MAF etc the other day) I think it may be the Coolant Temperature Sensor. i.e. it's running rich because it thinks it's always cold...? After reading posts and thinking back, it sometimes doesn't start straight up again when hot after long drive (which confirms this for me)
I read on here that there are actually 2 sensors for the 2.0 - one for ECU, one for temp guage on dash. Is this the same on the V6?
I also had a wierd thing going on with my guage... Sometimes the light would be on, and the temp would flick around, eg from bottom to top!! then come down again after 2 seconds.
I have recently changed coolant.
It hasn't done this yesterday or the day before.
Could it be poop in coolant that didn't get flushed properly that is cycling round and giving dodgey reading when stuck? Or more simply a broken sensor?
(If of course there are indeed 2 seperate sensors on the 2.5 L)
Thanks in advance. Looking to get it sorted as soon as poss today and then put it in for MOT later. (At least I would then have ruled out some stuff before the emissions test)
Thanks all
