would this fault code be generated because of a leaking exhaust manifold ???

the code i have isnt in that list?
forgot the exact wording but it was summit like cat below thresh hold??

Sounds like a pre-cat issue :-?

But I don't remember hearing many 4 pots with them :-/ :-/

A code P0420 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

Leaded fuel was used where unleaded was called for
An oxygen sensor is not reading (functioning) properly
The engine coolant temperature sensor is not working properly
Damaged or leaking exhaust manifold / catalytic converter / exhaust pipe
Retarded spark timing
The oxygen sensors in front and behind the converter are reporting too similar of readings

garage did say manifold leaking and when its cold it is a bit noisey had a load more codes untill i cleared the breathers and cleaned the throtle body this is the last one

Should i just clash a new manifold gasket on? btw am doing the thermostat this weekend coz its stuck open

have you cleared the code once already and it returned straight away? If not clear the code and keep an eye on it.
