I'll aask the question before someone else does!

Have you definitely got a head gasket problem? The reason for asking is that the V6's are strong on head gaskets.

There are loads of other issues they can have that look like head gasket. e.g. oil cooler, heaterbypass valve (HBV).

Well done Varche... You got in quickly there ;D

As above... What are the symptoms before you start looking at HG failure as these are often mis-diagnosed.

Although there was a batch of slightly weaker ones around 99 (IIRC) but these generally go between the waterways and the cylinder/outside completely missing all the oilways ;)

Basically... Oil/water mix in Header tank with no milkyness on dipstick is likely oil cooler, not HG (this is the most common fault diagnosed as a HG fail)

yep i no a lot of people say it on here but everything points to head gasket the oil cooler has been recently done its not oil into water its water into oil the hbv is leaking steam out of exhaust and oil and water, the oil on the dipstick is like mayo plus there is alot of mayo on filler cap and neck alot more than usual and misfiring and overheating?so maybe given all of this is why i think its the head gaskets

That does sound more like a HG failure :'( :'( assuming that the coolant was flushed completely and thoroughly after the Oil cooler change and the oil and filter has been changed?

Did it get very, very hot at some point? :-?
