Oil Leak
« on: 02 March 2011, 18:56:29 »

Hi all, I have a 2.2 omega which is losing oil. It is coming from the near side of the engine towards the front and i get puffs of smoke where it meets the front of the exhaust manifold.  Both the rocker cover and camshaft gaskets are ok.  Is there any thing in that visinity that could leak oil please?

I am sure, have double checke the gaskets, and I can run tissue around the rocker cover after a long run and there is no sign of oil on it

Had a good look today and found the leak.  I removed the exhaust manifold heat shield and found the top left stud was very loose.  I put some thread-lock on it and torked it up which has cured the problem.

Thanks for looking

Wouldn`t have thought a loose manifold stud would cause an oil leak :-?
