Poor MPG
« on: 02 March 2011, 18:13:41 »

My 2.5v6 has dropped 10 MPG in recent weeks. Avg is now only 19 on a 10 mile A-Road commute to work. It was around the 29 mark. When it is cold it the revs are going up and down from around 1000 to 1300 and it runs rough. When it warms up it not too bad but really poor MPG....anything obvious to check?

Some possibles to consider

Air leak, failed or failing icv, multiram issue due to loss of electric or vac supply, maf(unusual on these)
Cam belt, what's the history, when is it due?

Suggest thorough inspection of plenum and intake connections, and paper clip test for codes.

Huh

1) Is it getting up to temperature
2) Any fault codes (paperclip a 2.5)
