Is there anyone in the Gainsborough (Lincs) sort of area or Northampton area that fancies picking me up and dropping me off in Northampton so I can pick up a car and have it towed back here by the breakdown company??

Any day apart from today or Saturday is fine...fuel costs will of course be covered as will sustainance for the journey and if you need some car parts that I can supply, some bits sorting on your car or your car connecting up to the 'puter for codes to be read reset by way of payment then even better

I can go by train if all else fails but its a 4 hour 3 change journey which I'm dreading!!!

If you're having the car trailered mate do you need to go at all?

The services I've used have picked up the car from the buyer (who I have prepaid), and then brought it to my door. Wonderful!

There is a website (websites) where you can post your requirements, and transport companies 'bid' for your job.

You can get some amazingly good deals.

I envisage a short drive, a "breakdown", a phone call to the "3rd emergency service", a wait, a cheap recovery home....

Entwood is indeed correct...apart from the short tow with the engine running to make it look like its been driven as the clutch has gone I suppose it may be worth just paying someone to trailer it here if cost is not too prohibitive but I would prefer to see and check out the car before paying for it...

As long as its mot'd and taxed then you're good to go....they get fussy when its not

Might well be able to drive to retford and get the train to Huntingdon arriving 11am Sunday...there is pretty much nowt leaving Gainsborough Sunday at all but I can always get a bus to Retford Monday to go pick up my car Will certainly let you know Cheers for that

Ok got a plan sorted Thanks for the offer Serek, really kind of you...looks like I will be able to sort this out myself as it happens...planning to get it Sunday so will keep you updated on how it goes lol
