Thought i'd blown up the TD
« on: 08 March 2011, 02:54:52 »

Was out having a nice "spirited" country lane run in the Chipped Mig and POW, all power lost and lots of black smoke....I thought oh crap, what's broke and how much is it going to cost me lol!

Popped bonnet, intercooler hose had popped off the Intake manifold at the front!.
Popped back on (tightened up properly) and its fine again.

PHEW!

I know,
Proper worried. I thought i'd burst an intercooler hose in all honesty. I've done that on both my Rover 400 turbo diesels lol. But it common on them lol, and seemingly unheard of on one of these

anywho, alls well that ends well

You'd be absolutely right, 1 owner, full service history, old guy who owned it had died.

Fellow oofer had it for 1500 miles and now me.

So yeah, never been thrashed, has towed some though.
I have a full notebook type record of all the diesel he's ever put in, the mpg for every tank, every oil and filter change and every time he's done ANYTHING to it (changed tyres over, checked the pressures blah blah lol)

Guy must have been really OCD  ::)
I'm glad though, because i know when everything has or hasnt been done.

As for the pipes, turns out that one slipped off because the jubilee clip was naffed. Replaced with spankin new one today and did it up nice and tight.

See my other post in the help section though, for a strange pipe i have found loose.
thanks
