Replace, known good 2nd hand is OK.

I think they vary with engines - 4 pot, V6 and TD.

not a bad job to do if you read the guide make it a lot easier
as for being specific to a car i dont think they are  i think all v6s are the same, unless it a real late model then i think the pipe work changes slightly but still able to fit with a bit of effort, but hopefully some one will confirm

yup that is the impression i got when looking for one  :y
so basically changing the fluid wont do anything ? the symptoms are that hardly any power steering on low revs and not alot more on higher revs, so i take it the pump has had it?? unless anyone knows different  ;)

Thought I would bump this topic as I did not think it was worth starting a new one.......

I have bought a pump off ebay and was wondering do I need any other parts to change the pump? New pipes etc Or will the old pipes/fittings go straight onto the new pump?

Cheers,

My 3.0 V6 is doing exactly the same.

Vauxhall said that a new pump would cost over £1000 as they had changed all the piping going to it and that too would need to be replaced if the new pump was going to fit. If you believe that?!!!!!

Would the pump not be an exchange unit as per when you buy brake calipers?
