2.5TD Radiator
« on: 28 February 2011, 17:47:12 »

My car is a 1996 2.5TD auto with a/c. A new radiator £250 plus vat from GM or slightly cheaper after market one for £230 plus vat. That's a bit of a choker.  [smiley=cry.gif]Help

Is the rad shagged then?

They are an expensive item for the TD.

I guessing so.It's weeping at the bottom, and even if I'm being optimistic not much more than half of it gets hot. It's had Radflush in it and been backflushed. Thought about a recore but even that came close to £200 plus a 4-5  day wait  Aargh.

Try and get hold of some K-seal.
Its the best stuff on the Market and will seal almost anything.

Ive heard it being used in 6cyl large block diesel crane engines and the like.

I've used it personally too and it was a success where others failed.
Worth a go for £10

could last for a long time.

Have you any companys around your area that do re-cores they only cost about £95+vat only snag is you won't have a car for a few days

New for £154.35 with £11.00 p&p here:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-OMEGA-2-5-TD-AUTO-RADIATOR-06-99-07-01-NEW-/130427646377?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e5e17f1a9

I know it says '99>'01, but the rad from my auto '94 Elite was a straight fit to my manual '00 CD.

I have a Delphi 52405106 'on the shelf' from a '98 2.5TD Auto with a/c in very good condition - PM Sent.  Not sure why my rad number wouldn't be in the list above though...

Thanks for all the replies everyone.
DJpete your link looks good at £95 odd the part no. 52463054 on the order seems to point to yours being a manual with aircon? I'm guessing my auto one going to be dearer, but who knows I'm waiting on another price too .

Well I've fitted the rad I bought from Jester it was as described a very little used rad and in great shape I have been out and ragged it around (well as much as you can with an auto tractor) the temp was rock steady. Thanks to the everyone for the links and advice it's much appreciated. The members on this forum have  a. saved me a fortune  b. offered outstanding support . during my rad searches I found this link to Delphi Radiators it list original part nos and the corresponding Delphi part nos. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=47&ved=0CD0QFjAGOCg&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.delphi-dpss.com.pl%2Fkatalogi%2Fnagrzewnice.pdf&ei=YsZsTY3jLozg4AbDx63XBA&usg=AFQjCNG9UCG6hZTrT9J_kIlma6EIGxpCBg
