It could be your exhaust manifold gasket :y

Does it go when the car warms up?

Like the guy above has said, it will tick then go quiet when warmed up when the exhaust manifold gasket is on its way out. When fully gone it will constantly tick even when warm.

Hope that makes sense

lazy lifter that takes a while to pump up ? mines ticked quite loudly when cold for the last 100k miles , only for a few mins . Once warm its fine. I assumed a lazy lifter so I tried some wynns in it last oil change but made no real difference.

Im going to leave mine as it isnt noticeable inside the car and its not done any obvious harm so far ......

famous last words probably find something self destructs tomorrow....
