An Elite, why hasn't it got one already?
The connection is in the back left corner of the boot, up high. It is a slim black connector, worth having a look to see if it is present.  :y

The last Elite's didn't have them (I've had 3 x 52 Plate Elite's and none of them had one).

Once you get a blind from another facelift (or prefacelift and modifiy the connection) it's a case of swap them over, plug the loom and switch in.  :y

The electric blind is the only toy on my Elite which doesn't work.  I think the motor still works but something might be jammed.

I've never seen a use for the electric rear blind tbh so I haven't got round to trying to fix it.  What do people use it for?

Mine only goes down when SWBMO drives it, other than that, it's always up. My Senator's was the same.
Take the rear shelf out, the motor has enough spindle showing that you can get hold of it to spin it. As you suggest, it could have jammed closed & moving off the stop slightly might be enough to get things going again.

Normally for idiots behind you that don't adjust there headlights properly, and the autodip mirror just isn't quite enough.

I've debated for a while a picture of a middle finger stuck on it in vynal so it rolls round the drum ok.

May be useful when the following (bmw?) driver tries to get in the boot, you can flip them the bird- thanks to "one foot in the grave" for that one  ;D ;)

If it just clicks when the button is pressed it may be that one of the gears has jumped out of the bush for the spindle as mine did, fixed this once, happened again so I replaced it with a motor and gear assembly from a scrapper.
I agree that they very rarely get used but I am one of those OCD people who has to fix things that do not work.  :o :o :y

There is a good guide on the forum to use, just watch your speakers as you are putting the shelf back in as the 3 fixing studs can catch and damage the speakers.  :y

Be aware that the plug changed on very late Omegas, making it more difficult to retrofit (as the ones with new style plugs were never fitted as standard, thus rocking horse poo).

So you may need to modify plug (easy enough, obviously, but easier if you have a short bit of car loom from donor ;))

Nowadays all those sit on your bumper drivers have Audis! Bmw will almost be respectable. I noticed on Top Gear last episode that every Audi was sent to the Uncool section due to the people who drive them. ;D
