Crank oil seal / Cam belt renewal
« on: 14 March 2011, 06:10:11 »

Had a read on TIS last night and it said that my car has the "latest type" of cambelt rollers where the lower one is non-adjustable and the upper one is "pe-set" and would not need any adjusting. So, my question is, does this all mean that I might be going to have it done easier than in other models? I've never done it before, I have the DVD coming in mail and I can get the locking kit for a loan and I have decided to bite the bullet. So, before seeing the DVD it mainly involves releasing the tension with locking kit installed, new belt on and tensioner set up correctly. No need to touch the rollers?

There aren't any like that, the latest ones have a fixed lower roller but the upper one is the one that does the adjusting ;)

But that's what TIS said: the upper is "pre-set" and should not be adjusted... It was mentioned in somewhere within "new features 2002" or similar...

Well, I will watch the DVD when it arrives and try to do the job, thak god this forum exists so I can get back to you guys when I hit the wall  :y
