Tc light and airbag light
« on: 24 March 2011, 17:56:25 »

Hello in need of advice my Tc light is coming on intermittently and I've had it in and they've told me it's a fault on gearbox some type of message is being sent and it's saying there's something wrong but I have had the ecu checked by the boy and he said the ecu has no programming, so I was wondering if that's possible it seems like I'm being fed a line but not sure

If thats the original ECU that was in when I saw you....

I would not be looking at the gearbox, admittedly I have never seen an ECU quite like yours, but we did prove all the sensors were responding if you remember.

edit, here is the live data, knew it would come in handy one day

so the key parts were...

Gearbox codes

(05) - Not present

P1844 - Ignition/Injection Cutoff Circuit Incorrect Signal
(08) - Not present

ABS codes
None...BUT...

Yeah I remember that just asking cuz I'm confused to he'll with it, also have you ever heard of a child sensor in the back seat as I've got a red light on dash at side of traction control and that fellow mentioned child sensor, also have you got any recommendations for Tc light

child sensor is front passenger seat.....

just looking in TIS at the gearbox codes

The voltage at the control unit input (terminal 41 ) is too high.
The control unit recognises no pulse width modulated (PWM) signal.
Above conditions must be fulfilled for at least 0.38 s .
Effect:

The traction control function is locked.
Concerned Terminals:
41

Circuit interruption between:
K85 Control Unit - Automatic Transmission
Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 41
&
K61 Control Unit - Motronic
Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 38
&
K95 Control Unit - ABS & TC
Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 13

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

A gearbox fault that can affect the TC
and an ABS/TC ECU with no program...

I suspect the ABS and only the ABS ECU of causing both problems.

Yeah thats what I'm inclined to think, I think an ecu off 2.5 or 3.0 and then see what happens the last 2 have been off the wrong car unfortunately. Also is the child sensor very expensive to fix or replace ??

Page 27 http://homepage.ntlworld.com/andrew.reynolds983/Manuals/Omega2002Manual.pdf That's your airbag light, nothing to do with a kiddies sensor. The light for the OE system with the kiddie sensor is up by the courtsey light. You have a problem with the airbag system for which you need a code reader of sorts to diagnose/reset.  :y

Right then got some new developments, once the car gets warm on A roads it causes the rev counter , Tc light and auto gearbox warning however if you drive on a motorway at 70 for around 50 miles it's perfectly fine but the temp is reading low any help would be appreciated thanks

Those gearbox codes are caused by the ABS ECU.  Saw one today not 30 mins ago with same codes after ABS failure.

If this is same ECU as before, its either not yours, or they managed to wipe some of the flash during the repair.

Even with those new things with rev counter bouncing and stuff cuz it only seems to do it when warm ??? Its so frustrating
