What markings do you have on the springs? 'LA' perhaps?  :-/

LA on one O/s     - nothing at all on n/s .   had a real good look

Front springs are paint marked   Orange /grey on top coil &  orange on coil below that.

Any clues in that?  :-/ :-/ :-/

Mine has LA on the rear (both sides) and IIRC so does chrisgixer.

I haven't measured the rear ride height but does look a bit high

Another thought.

The rear semi trailing arms tend to wind up (or down?) due the torque reaction from the parking brake, possible aided by an auto box in park.

Did you have the hand brake off and the gearbox in neutral when you did your bounce test?

  Ah!  Hand brake was off - but car was IN park. 

Am getting ground to wheelarch measurements from an MV6 today so at least we will know the difference between the two models .

Don't know if this helps or hinders ...  2001 3.2 Elite Saloon. New rear shockers 7000 miles ago. Engine running, self levelling pump "finished" its business ...

Measured at the wheel arch vertically through the centre of the wheel.

F N/S = 675 mm
F O/S = 665 mm
R N/S = 675 mm
R O/S = 685 mm

Now those figures look very like your original figures ...... so what makes you think it's sitting "high" ??

N/s rear 690mm

Right then results of the MV6 measure up ! 8-) 8-)

Ground to Wheelarch vertically through wheel center on his own MV6 has been confirmed by Darth-Loo-Knee as: 670mm all round

My car just looks wrong the rear height being 690mm in comparison to the front (660mm) .

It does not sound like much but it looks quite "ugly" to me.

Gonna try & get a set of rear MV6 springs & try them.

Thanks all  for putting up with this  long drawn out issue & all of your good input in the replies.

But I think we may have the answer now . . . . .
