Hi
Just got my car back from the garage having had a new manifold fitted (2.2). It had been running really bad for a while and a leak was diagnosed by the AA man, Kwik Fit and and the garage that replaced it (fit only as I supplied). They all said that the leak could have knackered the o2 sensors hence the rough running. Car was off the road for around a month while I got the manifold in and sorted payment for it all. Went to take it to get work done but the battery was dead. Jump started it but had lost all throttle response. AA man followed me at engine pull speed to the garage. Garage fitted a new throttle switch as well as manifold. Worst part is, there are more fault codes now than ever after the battery went flat. They now think that the ECU might be buggered as after resetting codes 3 times, they all return together with the spanner symbol on the dash. They also said that the EGR valve is 'blowing' from the middle (?). I fitted a new one about a month ago and it hasn't even covered 100 miles. I'm prepared to blank it off but will that cause yet another error code?
They told me to get VX to use their diagnostic as it might determine the root cause better than their system but I can't afford yet another £90 just for them to tell me the same thing.
I have thrown so much money at this car that I could have bought a brand new one by now so if it is the ECU, I will have to give up. If anyone has any helpful suggestions, I await them eagerly.
Fault codes are:
P0170 02 SENSOR
P1700 MIL REQUES FROM TRANSMISSION MODULE
P1120 ACCEL PEDAL SENSOR 1
P1122 ACCEL PEDAL SENSOR 2
P1150 LIMP HOME ( or to garage in my case!)
P1525 LIMP HOME POSS ERROR
P0304 CYL 4 MISFIRE
P0120 THROTTLE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR/SWITCH CIRCUIT A
