CID to something!
« on: 23 May 2011, 06:01:07 »

Iv had enough of the buggered blank CID screen in the car at the moment and was wondering can i replace it with a standard (any) screen that came with the other models. that way maybe i can see something than be blinded by a white light? TIA guys  :y :y

you could fit a GID (half height graphical display)

As far as I know they are not paired to the HU unlike the CID, it may need adjusting with Tech2, unless it comes from same engine/gearbox setup  :y

I've probably got one or two of the half-height jobbies if needed.

Ok thats another thing, i took of my stereo unit as my screen was buggered and it was a easier option than sourcing a new screen. now that i have a aftermarket HU, what should i expect CID/GID to be displaying..

Hmmm. If you have no plans to go back to the 2013 and want to stick with an aftermarket HU i'd suggest popping a TID or MID in there.

Oh and if you want to sell the Faulty CID and HU then let me know!!!!

Yes, I'm always up for buying the stuff at the right price ;), even broken CIDs ;D

A MID is what you need (grey plug), a new wiper stalk, and 2 wires run from stalk to display

coolio? so the only color one is CID, the rest are pixelated black screen, which is the one that takes up the whole screen?

VXL V6 - the units out, the screen still in there. do i need to depair the screen or can i just take it off as long as both the unit and screen stay and get installed together..

I have the wiper stalk with the control buttons if required.

EDIT: Yes the HU and Screen need to stay together unless depaired by Tech II.

TB and I are very interested in this kit as we are trying to learn more about it (especially the CID's) so any kit that is faulty is good to experiment on!

Later style MID. I have a couple here but they will need the config changing via Tech II otherwise the fuel computer etc will be out. Not a big problem, Mr TB can sort that one out!
