Locking kit loan
« on: 21 May 2011, 13:34:03 »

Please can anybody lend me a V6 cam locking kit?  I’d obviously cover any shipping or other expenses involved, or can pick up in the London or Gatwick areas.

TIA

believe there is a 250 post count limit or it 500? For anyone wanting to borrow an OOF kit due to their value.

But there may be a member nearby who will lend him one ;) ;)

Failing that, I'm sure that they can be hired from somewhere online

Surely that's up to the owner of the kit, not the forum  ;)

Indeed, OOF doesn't own any locking kits.

Its up to individual members if they want to loan their's, and under what conditions.

Personally, I only lend mine to local members now, due to a couple of incidences of struggling to get it back, and also the hassles around going to PO to post, and going to sorting office to collect (neither have parking around here, so its about a 3m round trip walk)

Neither of you read that i said OOF kit then?   ::) Ones that were lent out went missing hence the post limit applied.

Personal kits, its a personal choice.

Nope.

All the admin's used to loan out theirs, but that again was nothing to do with the forum :y

There is a meet next weekend in High Wycombe (not far from M25/M40, might be somebody there willing to watch you do it there, if you have no joy in borrowing a kit locally :y

There's one for sale in the parts for sale section. Buy it, use it and sell it on again ;)

Thanks guys - not as easy as I thought!

I am in fact a reasonably safe bet - and the folk from the Kent meet know where I live and would come and let my tyres and/or kneecaps down if I did anything as pathetic as nicking a fellow OOFer's kit.  Ay least I damn well hope they would!

Thanks EP - I have PM'd Varche.  :y

If that doesn't work out, there is always fleabay.  I gather the Laser kit is probably not the best.  Any others to avoid?
