notice ive had to fill it up with water rad.when engine hot get this leak dripping down from drivers side rear of engine seems to be coming from some round thing with 2 pipes coming in and one out,its black has a hole at bottom of itany iders thanks

heater by-pass valve by the sound of it  ;) About £30 for a new one from vauxhall & allow an hour or so to fit, not difficult, just awkward to get access to. Remove wipers & plastic scuttle for reasonable access.  :y

I've only ever done one on a V6 ..... assume a 4 cylinder car is similar  :-/

Generally called the heater bypass valve. Has 3 large pipes and one small vacuum pipe on the top.

Quite prone to leaking.

That would be your heater bypass valve leaking, about £34 from vauxhall.
