Starting Issues...
« on: 24 May 2011, 18:24:42 »

When turning the engine over to start, the rev counter is very eratic (sitting between 1500 and 2500 rpm).  If I disconnect the Crank Sensor, the engine will start and with the crank sensor reconnected runs smoothly and the rev counter sitting steady at around 600 rpm...

Is it the Crank Sensor on its last legs, or is it picking up interference from the starter motor (again)???

Not read the codes admittedly, but, Due to disconnecting the CS sensor, a 19 is a definite show...

Thanks...

Yes, the car will start with the Crank Sensor disconnected...

I thought was a trait of the 2.5TD tbh...

Had a general rumage about, but can't see anything loose or anything that would appear to send the sensor skitzy...

Can anyone tell me what other symptons a dodgy crank sensor may cause???

Thanks...
