Does anyone know of any websites or any info on v6 camshafts, i.e. lift & durations of standard cams?

The info is probably on here somewhere. Might take a bit of finding though. Its generally acknowleged that the cams from a 3.0 or 3.2 will give some more bhp (18iirc) when fitted to a 2.5/2.6 engine. I believe it also helps to fit the lower inlet divider from the larger engine at the same time.

Looking at Piper's web site, they do cams with 10.5mm lift, which I know G cams have 10mm, but have no info on the rest.
Im building a fast road 3.0, but dont want to go too far, as its an everyday car, plus tows as well. The only thing I need now are cams, but want to keep a bit of low dow torque.

Ive got 2 ported dividers allready, dont suppose you have any 3.0 standard pistons have you?

not long done mine,useful gains at higher engine speeds but no noticeable difference at low speed,I swear that it sounds better too

I believe Mark's DTM measured the cam profile a while back so the information is probably on here.

Uprated cams (beyond 3.0 cams into a 2.5/2.6) don't appear to be a popular modification so there's little experience of them here.

One thing that will help is to fit the 3.2 exhaust manifolds, as these are lighter and flow better.

Cheers for the info  . Got a few F & E cams lying about, but will be no good in my 3.0. afaik, them cams have only 9.2mm lift, so G & A seems to be the way to go, unless I fork out for Piper cams. I also have some ported 3.2 manifolds aswell, thanks to Albs!

Looking at that plot the duration appears to be 240-250 degrees (depends how you measure it, of course, but...)

Piper seem to offer two cams:

248 degrees with 9.53mm lift
256 degrees with 10.54mm lift

Little if any improvement for £336 although, of course, the profiles might be more aggressive on the open/close ramps.

Add to that the need for a set of 4 vernier pulleys to set them up properly. Not a cheap exercise.

They quote power band 2000-6500 RPM for the more aggressive cam. Hmm. Not far off what my seat-of-the-pants dyno says the standard 3.2 is doing. Perhaps I'd say it's dropping off a little earlier than that.

Makes me wonder if it's worth it. :-/

..and whether porting of the head is required before you get any gains at all, of course.

If there's any grumpiness at low RPM a heavy car like the Omega can ill afford it.

 Those piper cams do one set for 2.5 & another for 3.0. so would be looking at the 3.0 ones, but your'e right about the cost, Kevin. It would seem like you dont get many horses more for what it costs. The heads are ported, & also inlet & exhausts are all modified, so would suit a more aggressive cam profile.
