I hate mechanics
« on: 01 June 2011, 23:05:41 »

Hi Guys,

As you guys may have seen from a previous post my crank shaft sensor went, I didn't have the tools or time to fix it myself so I asked my father in law's mate to do it.

Just a bit of back ground, my father in law used to own his own courier company, so used this guy to maintain/fix the vans with no problems.

So gave him the car, told him whats wrong, sourced the part from Vauxhall (Deeside, good guys really helpful). The idiot went to a 3rd part aftermarket dealer and bought a non GM sensor......... >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

The business end is fine but where it connects to the loom isn't even close, they have wedged it in so after a while it lossens so I have the cut out problem again. Squeese the connectors together and it runs fine again, and so on and so on.

I'm fuming that he's completely ignored me and done his own thing. Same time I can't really go down there throwing my weight around as this would cause the father in law trouble.

I should have just bought the chuffing thing and waited till I could do it myself >:( >:(

end of rant...

So, you booked it in and supplied/ordered the part yet he fitted an aftermarket part :-/ :-/

Think you need to go down and tell him he hasn't done the job properly and you want it doing again, FOC. If you hadn't supplied the part then agree to pay the difference in price but no more ;)

Or update your profile and perhaps someone will be close enough to help you out... It takes about 5 mins to change ;)
