hi all
just dropped my freind home when coolant level message came up so i stopped & level had dropped approx 1" below lower level,topped her up set off stopped at lights & saw steam comming from bonnet approx where expanstion tank is,i guess the water is being forced out of over fllow? water temp higher than normal.
any ideas? would it show on paper clip test?

No, it won't show via the paper clip. It's not unheard of for a crack around the filler neck of the header tank. You'll just have to keep a very keen eye on it.
