hbv replacement

i think the hbv is the cause of my water leak seams a simple enough job to do
but i need to know do i re fill the collant via the expansion tank,how much anti freeze to use & how do i make sure there are no air locks after topping up?

Simple job? - get plenty of plasters in  ;)

Refill coolant via "expansion tank", 5 lits red antifreeze for 50:50 mix, run engine with heater on full heat and burp hoses until no more air coming out  :y

i know nothing is simple in these engine bays.typical i changed crank sensor last week wipers off etc, week before cleaned breathers wounder if i damaged hbv in the process? ;)
