Lambda/Fuelling Query
« on: 08 June 2011, 08:37:33 »

Could somebody please explain to me how the Fuel/Air balance is maintained by the use of the Lambdas? I am trying to understand the logic behind it and hopefully solve my intermittent misfire and overfuelling problem.
Also are both Lambdas the same?

Not really, magic happens within the ecu!

The lambda sensors measure the content of the various gases in the exhaust, the engine e.c.u. then uses this info to compare against preset values. If the content of the exhaust gases is not within limits then the e.c.u. adjusts the amount of fuel  delivered to the injectors, and the timing of the spark to maintain optimum combustion.
