Dont know what the battery life will be like 'cos ther's a lot of load on a buffer. You can pick a mains feed one up now for less than £15

I have found that cheaper battery stuff is frustrating, either the batteries are always flat on they do not last long, bought a couple of drills recently, never again.  Had an old B&D from many years ago and it was great, the battery never went flat on the shelf. If you polish your car on the drive electric has got to be best IMHO

My dad was a sprayer and he says you have to be careful with buffers as you can go through the paint if your not careful :-?

Depends what you're doing, I'd say. For normal polishing with a decent polish it's really not that much work doing it by hand and you'll get a better finish. If you're G3'ing new paint or restoring neglected paint it might be worthwhile but I'd get a mains one in that case.

Whereas you can easily get a new bit of rag, stocking, etc when it gets contaminated with too much polish when buffing it's more of a faff with a polisher too. :-/

The surface area of the polish machine must be proportional with the motor power..Wider surfaces need much power..And much hard to hold when polishing.. :y

also after an hour the machine gets hot (depending on the RPM used)  and you need to cool it down if you dont want to buy another..Prof style is must..

sorry for being picky on that subject but as I'm very sensitive for paint I've used many..

Also the used heads must be of different style..

For abrasive polishing the sponge head must have big pores and stronger..

For waxing and final polish the sponge must be very soft and very small pores , and finally extra hand work on longitudinal direction of the part is required for loosing circular traces

and dont forget to use little water on sponge when your are working (before the final steps)
