High Mileage Miggys
« on: 23 June 2011, 14:58:38 »

Do i need to change the type of oil i use in my miggy?
Mine is upto 153k now and a few so called experts have said i should use a slightly thicker oil in an engine with this sort of mileage.
I've used VX 10/40 semi for years. Changed it every 5k without fail. Its cheap enough on TC (buy 3 get one free). Just over £40 with 3 oil filters.
Is there any truth in this?
Should i change to 15/30 or something a bit thicker?

confused  :-/

continue with what your doing, 10/40 Semi every 5k is just about perfect, I change mine about every 4k.

Now on 154k, without issues  :y
