Help.... been having problems with alarm going off at times, now car wont start and engine electronics immoblilizer symbol is on permantly and cannot seem to clear it ,  I can hear a clic when I turn on the ignition but cannot see where it is coming from because I have to turn the key and cannot see exactly where the clicking sound is coming from,, any help would be greatly appreciated as i have a hospital appointment this evening.   helppppp......

Have you taken the key apart lately - for a new battery?
and lost the plastic transponder that just clips in?

that said, im sure the immob light flashes for an immobilser problem.

Have you done a pedal trick to check for fault codes on the car?
if not, do so and post up the results (instructions in my sig)

Sounds like a simple flat battery to me.

Have you tried jump starting it?

As for the alarm, check the bonnet swithc is ok and not bent

thanks for replies..... new battery 2 months ago, and engine is turning rapidly,   done pedal test, results as follows.     10 3 2 4     .  10 3 3 5       10 3 3 4  does this help?

buy a new one from Vauxhall, and fit,

1 end under the scuttle, one end by the oil filter.

route cable behind the abs pipes rather than original route to protect from heat.

These do cause the failure you experiencing.

Not sure your other codes are valid, but the crank sensor one is, and suits your issues.

thanks for that, tried my local garage but they cant do it this week and supposed to go on holiday Sunday, so problems, have got green flag coming out to look at it,  thank all members for replying.

dont waste your money on garages...and pattern parts, buy one from VAUXHALL only and fit yourself.

Green flag mechanic  had a bit of a job to find sensor, but thanks to Mr. Greedy and other membershe found one end near the oil filter and gave it a tap and bingo... engine started..... Is this likely to play up again? should I  buy another cable?  many thanks

Lol, the tap will have done jack all, fluke is the name of the game here!

Seriously mate change it as i guarantee it will leave you in the shite! like halfway round a roundabout, fast lane at 70 etc etc and the engine just dies. About £65 without a trade card and 10 mins to change. I carry a spare in the boot

That crank sensor WILL let you down, VERY soon. Replace with a genuine part ASAP.

You were right, drove to garage for fuel, then a mile to my daughters, had some tea , came out, exactly the same,   I will ring Vauxhall garage in the morning as I have no vauxhall spares stockist nearby, and I dont think I could fit it as the mechanic had a jack and I havent and the car is pretty low,  the mechanic could not fint the top connection, he doesnt repair many omegas.......
