abs light

hi have an intermitant abs light problem. Light will stay on after start up but after going a few miles on re start light goes out and stays out. Anyone give me any pointers with this. Car is a 94 0mega estate 2.L

Until I read that your car was 94, I would have said it was a classic ABS ECU failure. But they seem to be associated with early 1998 onward 4 channel brake cars.

Rusty ABS rings?  Two located either side of the rear diff, the other two on the front hubs.  Clean them up with a wire brush.
