Battery Removal
« on: 11 July 2011, 18:23:22 »

Hi All
Can someone point me in the right direction for the instructions on removing the battery? I searched "Battery Removal" but nothing found?

Many thanks
 :)

Ign on
Loosen the -ve terminal
Ign off
Within 15s of ign off, pull off -ve battery connection
Undo +ve connection
Undo retaining bracket
Lift out

When you put battery back on, clamp it in first, then +ve, then -ve

Then you have to reset windows, sunroof and re-enter radio codes.

Why is that? First ign on? And what is the 15 sec? I have never had any problems with "conventional" methods, ie. ign off, undo-, undo +, undo clamp and off with the battery. Yes, and of course the battery jacket comes off also  :y

It avoids the power sounder going off.(assuming it still works ?? ) as the car thinks it has been hijacked and the breakage in the power supply triggers the power sounder.

Ok, now I got it. Here in Finland none of the new imported Omegas had factory fitted alarm so that's why it's no tbeen any issue.

Most in the UK have now probably died so sequence is only required if your powersounder is good and working.
