Rear multiram still not working

My rear multiram is still not working, under any conditions. Front one is fine. Can anyone help? I can confirm the following...

1) All vacc pipes are secure and intact, not crimped. They are all in the right places, I have double and triple checked against Marks diagram.

2) The one-way valves in the Vacc tanks are working.

3) The fault does not lie with the rear actuator - I swapped it for a known good one, and it still doesn't operate.

4) I plumbled in the rear multiram to the front actuator, as a test, and the rear multiram operates fine when electronically operated to the front actuator plug

5) I get an EML if I unplug the rear multiram, which goes out when I plug it back in. I also hear the actuator make a noise if I plug it back in with engine running.

6) Fault codes 73 and 74 are stored but the EML is not lit.

7) No obvious air leaks

Any ideas?  >:(

Try feeding it straight to the servo pipe....  :y

The way I see it is, you either have no vacum to the rear multiram or that the 12V that actuates the solenoid is not present.
Have you tried to see if there is a strong enough vacum present to the rear multiram?

Sorry Jaime... I've been wrapped up with a few Family issues, I should have let you know sooner I couldn't make it...

I didn't have more than 15 mins to play with it today, but I'm convinced I've got a good vaccum there - I think there's an electronic problem with actuating it....

Hopefully we can get together sometime very soon :y

If you are sure that there is a good vaccum to it then there can only be one other thing wrong with it and that is (as you say) the electronics actuating it.

This would be the only thing left surely?

I agree... Does anyone know what pin outs on the ECU these wires trace to, so I can do a continuity test?

May as well eliminate everything I can, before I pester TB and his Tech2 ;)

Have a look on either TIS or Haynes at the wiring diag, that will show you...   ...I'm suspecting duff vac, of failed solenoid (measure resistance with meter)

The Vacc is strong, and the soleniod has been replaced for a known good one  ;D

sorry trying to catch up on posts, not to mention another 40 new PMs.

pipe blocked between solenoid and actuator? failed diaphram in actuator?

Forgot to mention that when I sold you the car James, sorry. The rear multiram has never worked. The front one didn't work when I first got it, some dick had snapped the plastic connector and GLUED it back on!. Sorted that one but never got round to the other because I really couldn't feel any lack of performance.

I'm only kidding... I'm really thrilled with the car, I'm just too much of a perfectionist for my own good  ;D

If all else fails, I'll ask the knowing one to have a look sometime  ::)

Does the ECU report any fault codes? If the actuator and plumbing are OK it looks like the electrical feed to the actuator - but it would raise a code if the ECU was seeing open / short circuit from its' end  :-/
