Td engine n box removal??
« on: 31 July 2011, 14:02:01 »

Right then.. I wanna get my engine and box out to sell complete, or at least to get the weight down so I can be legal with getting the shell up the scrappie on a flatbed and be within 3.5 ton...

I've never done a engine removal before but figure it can't be hard just a case of undoing crap and some heavy lifting...

Any tips? Will it all fall out the bottom complete or drop the box and lift the engine?

I only have a big arse jack, and some massive axle stands, I'm guessing I need a hoist, pick em up off eBay cheap enough??

Tbf I think the best tip is 'just get your arse out there and start undoing!!' but a general order wouldn't go amiss...

Hoist needed, as it has to lift out.

Rad, a/c etc all have to come out. Been there, seen it, done it. Twice. ;D (although in my case, it was to repair, so needed to be more careful
