Hi Guys,

Im going to be moving some concrete slabs some and I was wondering if anyone knew or a figure in a manual of what Vauxhall said was the maximum weight that could be carried on the rear axle? Actual Vauxhall guidelines please if anyone has it.

I've had 12 'maxi' (25Kg, I think) bags of gravel in the back of mine - that's somewhere around 300Kg.. when I asked about this last time someone posted up that they regularly carried 500Kg pallets in their estate, too.

Just consider that it is not hard to get a large amount of weight in the back under normal use e.g. 3 100Kg guys plus a few hundred Kg's in the boot.

I had a crate of Indian stone slabs in my Estate, it must have been way over the top, but with 45psi in the tyres, and driving very gingerly, it got me 40 miles home OK.

I checked the VIN plate today (I think) and it had several weights on there, 2160 , 3900 , (1) 1060 (2) 1160 , can anyone tell me how to work these out, all I want to know if how many kgs do they recommend for either the rear axle of the whole car, thanks

2160 will be the maximum laden weight of the car.
3900 is the maximum train weight when towing
1060 is maximum front axle loading
1160 is the maximum rear axle loading

 

Only the laden weight is really useful, since you don't know how much weight is on each axle unladen.

Kerb weight of an Omega is between 1600 and 1750 ish depending on model, so subtract that from 2160 and you have the total load you can carry.
