Headlamps
« on: 15 August 2011, 09:51:55 »

Hi guys

Anyone know I can get those headlamp covers to get clear. They are cloudy plastic. I heard from someone that you can buff them up with a special solution and some elbow grease. Is this true? Your help would be appreciated.

Best regards
Anthony  :y

Replace them (the whole light unit) with projectors, fairly cheap and will improve output considerably.

Try one of the breakers here, maybe RobG?  :y

Yes they do, they are fitted to cars post 1998, and should just slot straight in:

Its up to the breaker if they are willing to post to Spain, parts have been sent abroad before.  :y

Perhaps some arrangement can be made via Varche? (spanish member)

Until you replace them...you can clear the ones you have with normal T-Cut and a fair bit of elbow grease...may need 2 or 3 coats if they are really bad but should come up like new :y

....

F/L = facelift ie later cars. Their headlights are a different shape from yours

HID headlamps have a lever inside which cut off the up sweep of a dipped headlight ie for RHD they appear something like \_____   \_____ when shone against a garage door. Your LHD lights will appear _____/   _____/  :y

When the lever is moved across the beam you'll get   ____  ____  whether RHD or LHD. The lever won't make a RHD headlight into a LHD light or vice versa  :y

So ....I need them with the levers right? (Sorry I have newbieitis at the moment ;) :D  :-/
Also Rob wrote..."D'oh forgot they don't have the switch lever like HID's" HID'S??? Is that a specific model for specific Omegas or specific years. What do the letters stand for?

Cheers a lot :y
