New Keys?
« on: 23 August 2011, 14:01:34 »

Hi all, I need to get a new key cut complete with remote and coded chip as I only had the one key when I bought the car. Vauxhall want about £112.00 + Vat to sort it. Does anyone know of a cheaper outlet and what I should be paying? (I still have the original key if that makes copying  the code any cheaper)

Cheers

If you have the car pass then buying the key and remote, getting them cut and a trip to one of the members with a Tech 2.

Having said that... From Birmingham there may not be a huge saving to be had as £112+ is actually a reasonable price from a stealer IMO

Ebay is your friend - get the horseshoe blank with transponder (~£7) and a remote.  Get key cut (most good locksmiths should be able to do this cheaply).  You then need use of a Tech2 to programme to car (your car pass will be needed) - see TB's price list.
You may have to PM him - his link has been removed from his sig.

Cheaper than Vx - that's the way I went with mine.
