Changed plugs and ht leads still got a mis fire
« on: 25 August 2011, 16:26:55 »

Hi guys well my hubby fit the new leads today and although it ticks over nicely once under load it still mis fires :( He noticed that one of the old leads had brown stains on the end like it had been in contact with water? Anyhow taking the advice from here it seems like the next step would have to be a dis pack.My hubby rang Vauxhall and he said there is 2 to choose from and he would have to take the old one off to see which one we had!!!! And with trade it would be £150 !!!!
Now please tell me we can buy an aftermarket one?

Are you sure they are plugged in the right order on the DIS pack?

Which one you require depends on oval or rectangular plug which is directed on the end nearest the center.  You can find out by removing the scuttle and having a peek.

I have an unused rectangular connector dis here but most miggies are oval :y

Ours is one where the connector is on the top not at the side looking at a parts place it shows an oval one for our cars registration.

Seen this one at half the price what do you reckon?

http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Vauxhall_Omega_3.0_2000/p/car-parts/engine-parts/ignition1/ignition-coil/?413720101&1&3fcc75f833e6443648418c89b504cece05437b15&000197

I'd stick to Bosch... Sure they're available on eGay for about £60
