just for reference, your numbers mean.....

SPLINTEX               manufacturer
Laminated              type ( required to be marked )
GF                        GM "ident"
Dot 24 AS1 M11      US approval number
Transp.   75%        Transmissibility - must be at least 75% for a windscreen or front door glass
E6  43R -  008591   Type approval number. E6 = Belgium, 43R means it's approved to ECE Reg 43, and 008591 is the approval number.

Thanks a lot 2woody for the info most gratefull
Am now waiting for the screen to arrive to Autoglass I understand from Opel Germany.
Autoglass insisted that I specify which screen they order and take responsibility, seems there is no info in the Vin No
I agonised and finaly decided on the heat reflective one as:-
my prime concern is protection from solar rays for my wife and also the interior also a guy at the dealers said the VX heat reflective had a bronze tint as apposed to the unwanted purple tint.
Wonder why the screen is not marked to define it's solar status as is the rest of the glass?

Had the new replacement screen fitted this afternoon by Autoglass, and what a difference.
I had the chance to compare both screens side by side, clearly the GM one is of a much higher quality.
And more able to protect my wife and miggys interior against the harmfull effects of the sun. So thank you Aviva it would appear there are still some genuine insurance companies around.

And thanks to all for your invaluable help :y :y :y

All the hr screens I have seem on an omega have been purple tinted. Never seen a bronze one.
