Not managed to find one at breakers yet, will try flebay. Couple of questions though. I've seen new ones listed on some websites, the "Hedgehog" style one.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Heater-control-unit-hedgehog-Vauxhall-OMEGA-2-2-/370429293637?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item563f4e7445
But the one I removed doesn't have the pins like a hedgehog, it's got fins instead. 4 long 1 short. Was this just a design change at some point or are they different for a reason?

Also, when I removed the plug on top it had 5 wires going into it, but the unit only has 4 points to connect to. Think the 5th one was a red wire. Any idea why this is?

Thanks

Two types, "pins" for climate control. "Fins" for standard aircon

Odd, part number on the one I've removed comes up with the "pins" type, and I was certain I had climate control.

Part number is
GM 90512510
Siemens 539.9960.010

This is the same as my console, taken from the "Climate bulb renewal (Prefacelift)". hope it's ok the link a pic from another thread.

The only difference is I've got a little cubby hole next to the radio instead of whatever is in that pic. Other than that the controls are all the same

 :-?

I'd assume then that GM changed it's supplier at some point, which would have changed the GM part number then.

Ebay listing lists both part numbers

Anyone able to confirm that 90566802 simply replaces 90512510?

If it was the resistor at fault then the motor would still work on max speed setting

Ok, I'm confused (which isn't hard tbh)

As far as I know the motor works fine, put it across the batt and it spins up. So if it's not the motor, nor the fuse and not the resistor (as it didn't work at any speed) then any ideas as to what it could be?

Actualy, scratch that, should have read the full thread as you have climate.

As a quick test, can you connect the two large connectors on the plug that connects to the speed controller together....the motor should then run.

And I have seen the electronic speed controlelrs with both fins and pins.  :y
