Actualy, scratch that, should have read the full thread as you have climate.

As a quick test, can you connect the two large connectors on the plug that connects to the speed controller together....the motor should then run.

And I have seen the electronic speed controlelrs with both fins and pins.  :y

Sorry, you've lost me  :-/

Pull the connector off the speed controller module.

You will see some small connetors in the multi plug and two large ones. The large ones are the pos supply and the output to the fan. By joing the two large ones together you are effectively bypassing the controller and should get full motor speed.

Ok, this is where I make myself look like a complete idiot. The speed controller module is where?

Feel free to point and laugh now  ::)

Ah, now I see.

All I've got on the resistor is 2 single connections going to the motor itself ( a + and - ) and 1 plug with 5 wires going back up into the dash via another connector on the side of the plastic motor housing cowl, if that makes any sense at all  :-/

The two connectors in the plug that marry up with two connectors on the resistor need to be bridged which in effect bypasses the resistor. If the blower motor then works, it`s the resistor that`s donald

Right, managed to connect the wires together. Linked one wire and then just tapped the other to make the connection, slight spark and the motor span round. So looks like it is the resistor

Only concern was this all happened with the ignition off. I'm assuming I've got an open circuit somewhere then, or should it have happened like that?

IIRC there`s a permanent live supply.

PM'd

So I shouldn't worry about the fact the ignition was off then?
