We really need to re-instate some assumption of a reasonable level of common sense before it's too late.
If a person can't assess for himself the risks involved in running down a cobbled street carrying a frying pan, or appreciate that if his flight lands on its' belly there are going to be some complications, then surely they are destined to have a hard life whatever happens.
With luck they will remove themselves from the gene pool before figuring out how to procreate, and will therefore do us all a favour. Why does everyone else's life need to be dumbed down to a level that allows them to be protected?

Apparently BA offered a free flight over London and free counselling to all passengers in order to help them overcome the fear-of-flight...
One of the listeners called-in and said that BA should give free tickets for life to every person that was on board that aircraft. Interesting idea, no doubt that would have cured their fear-of-flight pretty quickly...

OK, it is not fun being on board an aircraft that crash lands and granted there will be long term effects. But as said above the travelling public should be aware of the risks, and unless BA are actually proven to be negligent (which is not known yet to be the case) then I don't see why it is their fault.... after all their own staff (and aircraft) were affected as well.
