leccy windows and rear heated seats
« on: 06 July 2007, 02:01:26 »

Hi,

A pair of questions, hope someone can help me.

1. The electric window switches have no light, neither of them, they all work fine but with no light :-[ only the driver console has the green/red light on. I have checked the door plug and it seems to be ok, if this green/red light is on i assume the plugs are ok cos it switchs on with ignition... i've been having a look to the wiring diagram and all the switches are wired to the driver one so the problem could be there... as it's impossible to find an used console here i would like to know if someone has had this problem before, cos the GM local stealers want 80 gbp for the driver console :-?

2. Replacing the center arm rest i've seen a pair of plugs near the +12v rear output, yes, rear heated seats, i have leather seats and front are heated but... what about rear ones? have i only the wiring? if i fit the switches and the relays? How could i know if the seats are heated (but not wired from factory)? The car is a facelift, 2.6 Elegance, i think it's like a cdx, i think in the continent, the Elite vas called Executive... and mine isn't :(

Nothing else (by now)
Thanks
Greets

Sorry, cant help with windows, other than say the drivers door pack doesn't seem that reliable.

As for rear seats, most of the loom will be in place, however, you will need to replace rear seats for ones with heaters - very unlikely yours will have the heaters in...

Well, i thinkg i'll have to pay for the new switches..  >:( The matter is i asked in the GM dealer and i can't give back them, so, if the problem doesn't come from the drivers pack i'll have another switches without light...

If the rear seats are not heated.... front ones are, and i seat on the front :D i have to remove some covers to see what can i retro-fit... bloody car!

Thank you!

Its easy to check if the rear ones have heaters, just pop the seat base out (two tags that you pull to release the clips) and look for wires from the base....

When I get chance, I will give the scms a once over on the window problem.
