Just need some help plz to sort out a problem i've got with an 94' elite the fan keeps running on the heater panel even when you've taken the keys out ....the fan speed number is only just visable too

can stop it if i take fuse out ,but don't want to keep doing that really ...lol

Any help most welcome guys thank you ...

Hiya m8 the footwell is not wet or damp at the moment but i only just picked the car up on weds last, so it could have been before that date...??

The heating works fine hot and cold..... just this damn fan running none stop .....

If it's climate control, then fan controller has failed. It's mounted in the fan casing, have to remove glovebox for access.
The early controllers may be repairable, most likely one power mosfet has shorted.

agreed, likely due to blocked scuttle drain

Just to confirm i've got the right bit ....this is the fuse i have to remove to stop fan running on.....

fuse ,33-30A Heater fan, air-conditioning system.....

so if i go behind glovebox , I'll be looking in the right area...

With the glovebox removed, look up and you should see the fan casing. The controller has two heavy gauge wires and several thinner ones. You may have to remove two vacuum switches to give clearance, if it hasn't been removed for a long time it may be a bit stuck.

speed controller is bolted to blower, which you'll see when you get glovebox out.

Will have a look tomorrow at work....getting the glovebox out is easy enough is'nt it ...?? their not boobytrapped are they.....

Not as easy as expected, and officially should disconnect battery as you have to loosen airbag.

Hi Phil

I had a similar problem on my old 96 OmegaB, I used to pull the fuse as well and the fix was the regulator unit behind the glove box connected to the fan from what I remember.

It was a bit of a bum to get to and I think the replacement part was about £90 so a bit risky but it fixed mine.
