Parking Door mirrors
« on: 01 May 2008, 22:25:39 »

On the window switch / mirror control panel (in the armrest) of my car is an extra button that has a picture of the wing mirror with an arrow folding it in. I presume this is for parking the mirrors, which does not seem to be a UK option as it's not documented in the owners manual.

Is there a way to enable it? (Tech II?) or is it likely to not have the loom present?  :-/

It's an option that was enabled on Hans V6's car.

I think you are missing the motors in the mirrors to fold them.  Tends to be on Jap spec cars (maybe a Japanese requirement?)

Ah Right, of course, would need to motorise the main pivot point of the mirror housing/door mount, whereas the only motor present at the moment is behind the mirror glass.

That's a shame, would have been useful.  :'(

Thanks

Here's what they would do:- http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=W6TOH06T4Sg

In my official Vx manual that came with the CDX it is shown as an optional extra, but right enough my car is not equipped with the button! ;D   I have to manually fold the mirrors if I want to.

Anyone had this fitted as an option from Vx? I'd be interested to know how much it costs...

Pretty certain it was never offered as an option to Vauxhalls.

I've never seen a UK one with it, but it's shown in my owners manual as one of those '*where fitted' options.
