Radio Crackle
« on: 20 May 2008, 11:07:52 »

Hello.

Is there an obvious reason why my radio crackles, which gets worse when I accelerate, but with the engine off the radio is perfect.

Only happens for AM stations.

Many thanks.

In the old days that was down to the need for electrical suppression in the HT system.  Now it could well be an electrical leak in the very same HT leads / system.   I used to check them with the engine running in the dark for the tale tale sparks / arcing! ;)

I could be going completely up the wrong path for you, but this is worth a check I believe :y

Dodgy Plug lead/DIS pack.
As Lizzie above look in the dark for arcing - rev engine but don't touch any HT lead!
