guys, I have a ccr600 hu and blaupunkt (or whatever it is lol) cd changer in the estate. the last couple of days its been playing up. If im playing a cd quite loud as soon as the bass bits kick in the music cuts off, squeaks a bit then knocks itself onto the radio. If i turn the volume or the bass setting down it works fine. Any ideas??  :-/

I agree with Danny.  Your clue is in your post, the volume/bass is affecting the cd's.  I used to have the same problem in one of my Carltons.  It suffered from the volume/bass and then started being affected with bumps in the road.

Wheter it's a rubber mount on the CD mechanism or just wear on the laser head I really dont know.

Maybe Dave DND can confirm, he is Da Man.   :y

Not an uncommon sign that a speaker is failing -

If the voice coils are starting to burn out and bubble, when the speaker extends itself fully under high volumes, the head unit see`s the speaker as a short circuit, shuts down and then boots back up into tuner mode.

Try playing around with the balance and fader to see if you can isolate the offending speaker - if no joy with this, then maybe look towards a faulty CD player?
