There are a few aftermarket solutions, the trouble being all the adaptors to make the various bits work take up a lot of the limited space, so you may have to modify whatever you buy.

I have a different pioneer unit in each of our mv6's
They have multiple colours so can match the dash illumination
also adaptors are available for the MID and the steering controls
also have built in bluetooth so you have a hands free kit as well.

Sony also do the adaptors, as do Kenwood and I think Alpine as well.

You are generally looking at the higher end of the market for that functionality.

I have an alpine 9882ir, bought all the cables for it, ipod cable, 8gb memory stick, but i also bought the cable to use with the steering wheel controls, only cost about £15, but well worth it,
even if the stereo is within reach  ;D
I couldn't find one to work with the computer display.

Prefacelift range
CAR400 - Cassette Radio, normally fitted to GLS/CD
CDR500 - CD Radio, normally a factory option
CCR600 - CD Changer compatible Cassette Radio, generally fitted CDX, and paired to CDC2 changer
CCR800 - as ccr600, but paired to bose amp, fitted to later elites
SC804 - earlier elites, optionally with philips amp
ccrt700 - cd changer compatible, cassette radio with telephone, normally paired with CDC2 changer (though different to CCR ones). Fitted to 1999 CDX and Elites (bose on elites)

Generally, CAR400/CDR500/CCR600 interchangable (obviously, the CAR400/CDR500 can't drive CD Changer unit).

Generally, CAR400/CDR500/CCR600 interchangable (obviously, the CAR400/CDR500 can't drive CD Changer unit).

A minor correction . .
There are indeed some Versions of the CAR400 that will drive a CD unit, and are easily identified by an "O" where the cassette buttons are.

Really? That doesn't fit in with Vauxhall's naming convention.  Additionally, how would this one differ from CCR600?

Not sure it was ever offered out on the Omega, but certainly widespread over the VX range - astra / Vectra / Corsa etc

Have a look at this link, and you will see the "O" button to the left of the cassette buttons - used for changer code entry also.

As far as CCR600 - cannot really spot a difference !!

No, very different internally, and there are probably more versions of CD Ready CAR400`s than there are versions of CCR600 so if there is a "Copy" its more than likely the other way around. Actually thinking about it, there are more versions of CD ready CAR400`s than there are of NON CD Ready ones, but the NON CD Ready ones are in greater number as they were offered throughout the VX range as an entry level model that ran the seperate display.

Spec wise they are virtually identical though. The CCR600 is probably closest to the CAR400 MKIII though, if an internal comparison had to be made.
