Rear fogs not working
« on: 17 August 2008, 13:50:43 »

Done a check of all my lights the other day and found out that both my rear fogs don’t work. Nipped down to Halfords for myself 2 lights fitted them and still nothing. When I turn them on the light comes up on the dash so show there on. I’ve checked all connectors are in properly but still having no luck,

Any suggestions

I bet you have a towbar fitted......if so check the state of the contact in the tow multiplug, its likely to be corroded and causing the fault.

had a look at all contacts and connectors and all seem to be fine, any thoughts on a wiring fault?

if, like ive seen before that those horrible "scotchlocks"[blue square things] have been used on your t/bar wiring try squeezing them with pliers, personally i would junk them & use proper crimps with a ratchet crimper, those scotchlocks cause more trouble than they are worth.

hmm this is going to be a pain! there is about 3-4inch of wire then it goes into the bumper where i presume those horrible scotchlocks can be found

lets hope you havent got any but id be surprised if there isnt, but would have thought that they would be inside the car probably not to far away from one of the light clusters, its the matter of tracing backwards from the t/bar socket itself.

look here . Your problem is to do with the wiring of the fog lights .whoever wired your towbar connected to the fogwire for the trailer and not the one for the car - quite a common problem
